Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was full of pride after wearing the captain's armband for their 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents FC Midtjyllands.
The England international wore the armband for an hour before club captain Jordan Henderson entered the field on the hour.
"It was an extremely proud moment for me and the people who have helped me achieve it. Of course, I have to thank the manager and staff who chose me to lead the team," Alexander-Arnold told the club's website.
"It was really a great evening for me on a personal level.
"I think I will look back on this evening with fond memories after I was captain for the first time."
