Liverpool may be fortunate enough to sign Hector Herrera from FC Porto for a discount price.

Portuguese publication A Bola is reporting that the Reds could land the Mexico international for around £20million, which is half his buyout clause.

It is understood that midfielder Herrera has fallen out of favour at Porto and could be allowed to leave in January.

Liverpool have previously been linked with the 26-year-old and are again in the race to sign him, ahead of Italian club Napoli, according to the speculation emerging in Portugal.
