Liverpool considered summer bid for Leeds striker Bamford

Liverpool were weighing up a summer bid for Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford, it has been revealed.

Goal says Liverpool considered a move for Bamford earlier this year.

The 28-year-old proved many people wrong in the Premier League last season, impressing for Leeds despite fears over his inconsistency in the final third.

His rise as a player is said to have caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp, who has previously praised Bamford when speaking to the media.

Liverpool had 'genuine' interest in the English striker but that this 'never went far'. The report adds that Bamford was not inspired by the prospect of being fifth-choice at Anfield.
