Liverpool are considering joining the battle for Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho.
Sancho is a priority target this summer for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But Independent says United could yet face competition from their fiercest rivals, with Liverpool keeping tabs on the situation and may decide to make a move for a player also being coveted by Real Madrid.
Sancho is aware of Liverpool's interest, though it remains to be seen if the Reds will be willing to spend the necessary funds to seal a deal having been unwilling to meet Timo Werner's release clause in his RB Leipzig contract.
Werner is now on his way to Chelsea.
