Liverpool coach Zeljko Buvac misses Fenerbahce job

Liverpool coach Zeljko Buvac has missed out on the job at Fenerbahce.

PSV Eindhoven have announced that Phillip Cocu will be joining the Turkish side as their new head coach.

Fenerbahce had been keen on taking Buvac to Turkey to end his association with the Reds for good, after he left the club at the end of April.

Liverpool have always insisted he remains an employee, but sporting director Damien Comolli wanted Buvac to become their new manager, says the Liverpool Echo.

However, it will be Cocu who will be in charge next season.
