Liverpool, Chelsea encouraged to move for Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal

Liverpool and Chelsea are being encouraged to move for Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal.

The 22-year-old has already been capped by his country and was part of the Spain side that triumphed at the European Under-21 Championships in Italy.

Speculation is rife that the 22-year-old will depart La Real in the current transfer window, leading to one of the Spanish side's former players to suggest a possible destination for the youngster, says the Liverpool Echo.

Alberto Lopez played for the Anoeta outfit from 1993 to 2006 and believes his fellow countryman would be well served by completing a summer switch to Anfield.

Lopez told Marca: “I really rate him. I don't think he has a lot of time left at Real Sociedad. He has so much talent and I think he could play in a great team like Chelsea and Liverpool."
