Liverpool captain Henderson on track to make Brighton clash

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is working his way back to match fitness.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was down to just two senior fit midfielders against Atalanta on Wednesday night, with teenager Curtis Jones called into action alongside veterans James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum.

But on Thursday Henderson did a full session with those players who didn't appear on Wednesday night, after doing two tailored sessions earlier in the week, as he recovers fully from a muscle injury he picked up on England duty.

If he comes through that session with no reaction, he will train with the full squad on Friday, reports the Mirror.

And that should be enough to return him to the starting line up for the visit to Brighton on Saturday lunch time.
