Liverpool boss Klopp: Salah on Lewandowski level

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Mohamed Salah is on the same level as Robert Lewandowski.

Klopp worked with Bayern Munich's Ballon d'Or winner Lewandowski at Borussia Dortmund. The Poland international twice won the Bundesliga title at Dortmund with Klopp before being sold to Bayern.

Quoted by Fotboll Transfers, The German said of Salah: "Mo is definitely up there on the same level as Lewandowski.

"He is a real goal machine nowadays and his professionalism is of the highest class.

"In addition to his technical qualities, he is desperate to score goals and it is a good quality to have. That's exactly how it is with Lewa as well."

Against Brentford on Saturday night, Salah struck in the 3-3 draw - marking his 100th Premier League goal for the Reds. The result leaves Liverpool top of the Premier League table, a point clear of second-place Manchester City, the defending champions.

Egypt international striker Salah has played seven games for Liverpool this season, scoring six goals. Overall, the 29 year-old has scored 131 goals in 210 games for the Reds.

Liverpool are in talks to extend his contract, which has less than two years left to run.
