Liverpool boss Klopp: Wolves prepared Jota for our system

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is delighted with the impact of summer signing Diogo Jota.

Jota scored a hat-trick in Liverpool's last game against Atalanta in the Champions League, and Klopp says the club signed the forward to "help him reach the next level".

"We think we can help him, like he can help us, because of his quality," said Klopp. "He is still young at 23 and he played in one of the hardest working teams at Wolves, so he knows offensive players have to defend. I'm really happy about the impact he has had so far.

"Not scoring the number of goals he has, would not have made him a worse player. I love the way he did it and it's all very positive. We have more than three offensive players and they are all good, that's why they have a contract here."

Klopp admits Thiago Alcantara will not be back from injury in time to face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

He says: "Thiago is probably not ready to return. No surgery needed but still an injury. Big improvements one day to next but he has to train again and that is not the case so far. Not available for Sunday. That's it."
