Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says they sold Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for the sake of his career.
Solanke, 21, is expected to line-up against his former employers this afternoon after departing Anfield in January.
“It's always a bit strange and scary if you play against a former player," Klopp said. “Dom was here four weeks ago and we saw him every day.
“He's a wonderful guy and a big, big, big talent but we couldn't give him enough match time, so for his development it's unbelievably important that he gets these minutes.
“He had his first start last week. That's good."
