Liverpool boss Klopp: What a performance from outstanding Origi!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Divock Origi after their 5-2 thrashing of Everton.

The Belgian, starting in place or Roberto Firmino up front, has now netted five goals in Merseyside derbies, with only Robbie Fowler and Steven Gerrard netting more for Liverpool in the fixture during the Premier League era.

And a delighted Klopp said: “He was outstanding, what a game he played. It wasn't only the goals, but the goals were exceptional.

“The first one was a great, great attack in general. Adam (Lallana) wins the ball, Sadio (Mane) sees the run, his movement and passed the ball exactly in the right moment, one touch for Divock, an open goal, great.

“The second one, in Germany when I was young always the highlight of my week was the goal of the week and this would 100% be in contention, it was great first touch and finish.

“Apart from the goals, he made incredibly good runs for us, movements, used his speed, looked so natural, that was the most important thing.

“The understanding with Shaq (Xherdan Shaqiri) and Sadio was really good. It was a pretty impressive performance from Div."
