Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reckons they were lucky with the injury sustained by defender Andy Robertson.
The left-back will be absent for at least a few weeks as he deals with ligament damage in his right ankle.
Despite losing a key starter on the eve of the new Premier League season, Klopp believes they damage could have been even worse.
Robertson sustained the injury during his side's 1-1 draw with Athletic Club.
"Timeframe? Not really, but I think we got lucky with that," Klopp told the club's website.
"It could have been much worse. You saw the footage and it didn't look well but I think we got lucky.
"I am not sure [if he will return] before the international break or after, it is difficult in this situation, but [it won't be] too long.
"But yes, we have Kostas Tsimikas at the back, which is nice as well."
