Liverpool boss Klopp to hand Ward dream chance at No1

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to give Danny Ward a shot at the club's No1 spot in preseason.

The Mirror says Klopp is ready to offer his Wales international keeper, who was third choice at the club last season and played just one game, the chance to stake a serious claim for the number one spot at the club.

Klopp, has been impressed by the increased maturity Ward has shown since arriving back for pre-season training, and with his condition from day one at Melwood.

That contrasts with last summer when the keeper was deemed to have come back from a successful loan spell with Huddersfield not in peak condition.

This time around, the Reds boss believes his 25 year old keeper, who has four Welsh caps, has been outstanding both in training and in the two warm up matches the club has played.

And that will prompt Klopp to seriously consider offering Ward the chance to make the number one jersey his own at the club, with such serious doubts surrounding the position of Loris Karius.
