Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool's consistency has stunned him after their 4-0 thumping of Southampton.

The Reds have now won 24 of 25 games this season to move 22 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Liverpool have now taken 100 points from a possible 102 and, when told none of the assembled media had never witnessed such a sustained period of results, Klopp said: “I have never seen it!

“If I was on the outside looking at this, I'd be asking the same questions.

“I can only say I don't feel it. It is not that I feel stronger and stronger and stronger after each win. It's not like this.

“It is just one great celebration - sometimes more, sometimes less - and then relief, settle and go again.

“I have no clue how it should feel. It's not that I think we are close to something special.

“So many things can happen in football and even when there is any decision made in the future, why should we stop thinking the same way?

“We have to use the skills of the boys, the character of the boys, we have to use the power of this club and especially this stadium. It is our duty to win football games."

There was a funny moment during the post-match media conference when Klopp responded to being told Liverpool had 100 points from 102 games by stating: “That would be s**t!"

The Reds have now been beaten only once in their last 64 Premier League games, and the Liverpool manager added: “We don't look at the number but the game we lost in that period was Manchester City and you could say we lost from 11mm. That was a really tight game.

“Imagine we would have drawn that day and then I don't know how many teams we don't lose to.

“I promise you I don't lie, but we don't feel it. My main feeling before the game (today) is that I was concerned. I am a very optimistic person but not before a football game."
