Liverpool boss Klopp: Solskjaer tactics strange

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has taken a fresh dig at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tactics ahead of the visit of Manchester United.

Klopp says it is "strange" to see a team of United's quality playing in such a defensive style against his Liverpool side.

Speaking ahead of their Premier League clash this Sunday, Klopp said: "It's strange when you play a high-quality team, which United still are and they play the way they do. I don't know if I said United always defend but I probably did. True.

"We had that last week with Tottenham," he added. "They don't only counter-attack but it's a main thing.

"Against Spurs we had 80% possession after 70 mins, that is not normal. If people want to see it as criticism, I can't change this."

Sunday's bout between the two carries so much history and could be a potential banana skin for the Reds.

The German said: "I don't know about results but in games with United and Liverpool, there have been good times for both. Not always one clear favourite."
