Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says taking Papu Gomez out of the game was key to their thumping 5-0 win at Champions League opponents Atalanta.
Klopp rates the Oribici captain highly was delighted with how his players managed to defend the attacker.
Asked if the 5-0 win was the best performance of the season, Klopp said: “I don't want to compare, it was the performance we needed tonight just because the opponent is really strong and causes you massive problems.
"My boys played an incredible game, front line and defending, midfield organisation and desire, last line pushing up knowing the threat of Muriel and Zapata can cause.
"I don't think you can defend Gomez three of four games in a row but tonight we did for one game.
"A 5-0 win but still the goalie had to make three world-class saves. It was a really good game."
