Liverpool boss Klopp: Roma and Olimpico is destiny; I'll watch the games!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hopes to experience some Stadio Olimpico magic in the coming days.

Liverpool were paired with Roma in Friday's Champions League semi-final draw, the first leg taking place at Anfield on Tuesday, April 24 with the return the following Wednesday.

The Reds have previously won two finals in the Stadio Olimpico, beating Borussia Moenchengladbach to win the trophy for the first time in 1977 and then shocking Roma on their own patch in 1984.

And Klopp has revealed he will sit down and view re-runs of both games in an effort to help capture the magic and significance of the venue for Liverpool.

“I will watch them for sure because it is destiny or whatever," said the Reds boss.

“How can I say? If any German goes to Bern in Switzerland he cannot avoid thinking about 1954 (when Germany won the World Cup for the first time against Hungary).

“There are not a lot of people around on the planet from that time now but it is just a special place.

“You think 'Okay, it happened here, well done, all these guys'. That is how it is, but it was too long ago.

“Of course, if I find something that helped make this place even more remarkable or special for Liverpool then I will use it."
