Liverpool boss Klopp remains unmoved on midfield injury crisis

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is determined to keep the chequebook closed for the remainder of the month.

Thiago Alcantara is the latest to join the sidelines, joining Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones, while Naby Keita missed the Fulham clash due to illness.

The Daily Mail says Klopp will rely on players already at the club, with young duo Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho ready to step in for the Reds. Klopp can also call on the reliable James Milner, who impressed when he came on against Fulham.

Klopp has already stated this week: "We said we don't need a midfielder because we have enough - and we actually have enough, but the problem now is we get punished for something that is not our responsibility really because things like this can happen.

"Look, a transfer must make sense now and in the long term; we have midfielders, we still have enough midfielders. It is not that we lack midfielders, but it's just that some of them are injured. This is not a good situation, I don't like it at all, but we have to see how we react to that - but for sure not panicking."
