Liverpool boss Klopp regrets blowing up after Bournemouth opener

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp regrets his response to Bournemouth's opening goal in their 2-1 Premier League.

The Reds, who came into the clash having lost three of their last four games, went behind in controversial fashion.

Callum Wilson appeared to shove Joe Gomez before slotting home Jefferson Lerma's cross in the ninth minute.

Klopp was furious at the time as he remonstrated with the officials over the VAR decision.

He said later: "The first goal was, from my point of view, 100 per cent a foul, nothing else. The ref doesn't see it.

"I did it. Now I wouldn't do it. But how is that possible that someone looks at it and doesn't do anything about it.

“VAR hides behind the phrase, not clear and obvious. It makes no sense.

"We wanted to fight back before the game so then we had to fight, really back and put them under pressure."

Liverpool have now recorded 22 straight home wins at Anfield, a new top-flight record.

Klopp added: "We didn't think about the number before the game, but after the game, when you win the game you can think for a couple of minutes about it.

“It's nice, it's special. We have to fight hard. We are not geniuses but we have to fight until the end of the season."
