Liverpool boss Klopp ponders trying again for 'better than De Bruyne' Zielinski

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is being tipped to revive his long-term interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

Zielinski moved to Naples from Udinese, with a potential move to Anfield falling through after the clubs failed to agree a fee, says the Liverpool Echo.

It was believed the 23-year-old was keen on a move to Merseyside, but saw their £11.75million bid rejected as Napoli and Milan also battled for his signature.

After a long saga, the Reds finally admitted defeat after being unable to agree a deal with the Italian outfit, with Zielinksi moving to Napoli for around £13million.

Juventus and Polish legend Zibi Boniek has no doubts about Zielinski's quality.

“He will be the next De Bruyne? I think Zielinski already has more quality than De Bruyne," he said.

“They are different kind of players, of course, but they have the same ability to leave their mark on the team. I think that he will become a top player. He was 16, I went to see a Poland youth international match and thought: 'This is an extraordinary player'."

And in Italy, it's suggested Klopp is ready to try again for Zielinski as he battles to win over the confidence of Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri this season.
