Liverpool boss Klopp plans to sell EIGHT

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp plans to dump as many as eight players from his squad this summer.

The Mirror says after using 39 players during Liverpool's last gruelling 63-match campaign, Klopp wants a leaner squad for the new season because the Reds do not have European football.

The Liverpool boss has released Kolo Toure and Jose Enrique, received £4million compensation from Watford from Jerome Sinclair's Bosman move and could ship out as many as eight more players.

The sales of the likes of Christian Benteke and Jordon Ibe could generate over £70million, raising the possibility that Liverpool could make a trading profit during the transfer window.

Martin Skrtel is close to agreeing a £5.5million switch to Fenerbahce.

Sevilla have confirmed their interest in Joe Allen and Luis Alberto and Liverpool want £10million for the Wales midfielder, having rejected an £8million offer from his former club Swansea, and £7million for the Spanish winger.

Liverpool have accepted a £2.5million offer for Sergi Canos from Norwich, while Besiktas have revived their interest in Lucas in what promises to be a busy summer at Anfield.

Liverpool also want to offload Mario Balotelli and Serie A new boys Crotone are keen on him along with Sampdoria.
