Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has changed his mind about Xherdan Shaqiri's future.
The Swiss attacker was last week accused by a coach in his homeland, Arno Rossini, of sitting being happy to sit on the bench and get paid at Anfield.
Injuries have limited Shaqiri to 10 appearances for the season, leading to reports he could be sold by the Reds.
However, The Athletic says Klopp wants Shaqiri to stay in his squad for next season.
The Merseyside club believe the economic fallout of the coronavirus will lower Shaqiri's valuation to the point where they will simply keep him at the club for another 12 months.
They were originally seeking €30m for the two-time Champions League winner.
