Liverpool boss Klopp on top 4 tilt: I'm used to chasing role - it suits me

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says victory at Manchester United has set them up for a top four finish.

Next up is West Brom on Sunday and Klopp was asked if the three matches will define Liverpool's season.

"No, our season is defined by all of the games but these three games can give them an extreme positive outcome," said Klopp.

"Most of the teams in the world fight a whole year to be in a position to have it in their own hands to be in the Champions League and we are one of them.

"As much as the season was full of different challenges and problems we are in that situation and that's good, its a positive but we don't make now the second step before the first, we won last night and now we fully focus on West Brom."

Asked what last night's win and the performance does for his side going into the final three games, Klopp said his side just have to do the job to win games.

"It does a lot but that's not the only thing, we have to play football, make the right challenges," said Klopp.

"To score goals and defend well is the only thing what changed after the Chelsea game but we had the same job to do in all of our games.

"It didn't really make a difference yesterday because we knew our job is winning football games and that's always the case and now even more."

Klopp also spoke about Mohamed Salah and chasing the top four.

“Mo plays an incredible season. From a guy who scores from time to time to a goal scoring machine is a massive development," he added.

“Most of my life I have been in a chasing role! I am used to it. It is a normal situation and a good situation. Most seasons I am involved in go to the wire. All good, exciting and last night was much needed."
