Liverpool boss Klopp makes clear FSG Cup rejection claims

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has rubbished claims he's been told by the club's owners to forget about the Cups this season.

Going into last night's Super Cup triumph, Klopp was asked about rumours he had been asked to prioritise the Premier League and Champions League over other competitions, such as the FA Cup.

It was something he fiercely denied after delivering a booming laugh.

“Who could have told you that? That's not true, it's one of the many stories where there's absolutely nothing and not even a little bit of truth," he told BT Sport.

He also stated of his owners: “They create a basis, what they give us we have to use, it's as simple as that. They are big believers in development and don't believe you can invest and get it immediately.

“I am that person myself, I've never had a different situation so maybe I don't know how to act if somebody throws money at me and says 'now you can buy whoever you want'.

“We are completely on one page, it's a great relationship. It's good, everything is good, we were in a good moment last year and hopefully we can be a good moment as well this year."
