Liverpool boss Klopp insists no bitterness over Duncan's Fiorentina departure

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists there's no bitterness over Bobby Duncan's departure for Fiorentina.

Klopp insists the young attacker simply disagreed with the club's long-term view to ease him into the first-team set-up at the club.

He said: "Am I disappointed? I'm not sure. These things happen, we are all individuals and we all have different targets.

"We wanted to show him the perspective here but that is a message you deliver and nobody gets the message then you cannot change that.

"Obviously he had a completely different idea and especially about the timescale of how quick it has to be. We had to accept that and that is what we did. On the other side you have the club that is asking for him and that was the period that was not so nice.

"It's how it is. The club that wants the player is not coming in and offering £500m and we are saying 'No, we're fine with £10m'.

"It was the negotiations and that is always the period where people get a bit nervous but we can not say 'Oh you want him? Get him.'

"In these periods if we could all stop talking so much - all the people - that would help.

"It was a completely normal situation. If you want to buy a used car you can put £20,000 down and buy whatever car you want. I don't want to compare young players to a car but it was completely normal negotiations.

"Somebody wants something, somebody has it, and so you have to find a way. There was a lot of talking, we were not really involved to be honest, and now he's at Fiorentina. We wish him all the best."
