Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he puts trust in his players to manage their fitness.
Many pundits believe winger Sadio Mane should have been given more rest after his African Cup of Nations exploits in the summer.
But the Senegalese star has been in impressive form as the Reds made a perfect 3 for 3 start to the Premier League.
And Klopp believes players can be trusted to know their own fitness levels.
He continued: "You have to ask the players and that's an important thing as well - as long I see in their eyes they really want and I see the session in midweek. It's not about having only two weeks' break, it's about having that intensity always.
"That's why the situation is like it is, and we think about it, we talk about it - we have to change it in the future if possible. People are not too much interested in it (changing the international calendar to have less games in summer) so we have to try and find (our own) solution, but it's a difficult task to be honest, it's not easy."
