Liverpool boss Klopp: I really felt for Pochettino in Madrid

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he felt for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino after the Champions League final last season.

Klopp's Reds won 2-0 over their Premier League rivals, avenging their loss to Real Madrid in the season prior.

"I know that it was one of the greatest nights of my life, I said it after the game as well," he said.

"The immediate first feeling after the game was relief 100 per cent. I felt directly for [Tottenham manager] Mauricio [Pochettino], went to him, gave him a hug and it's like a strange situation where you are in between being really happy and really feeling for another person. Because I knew exactly that day how he felt.

"But after that, the next few days were some of the best of my life, 100 per cent. Because it's so big, it's so massive.

"I tried it with different teams so often and I knew as a human being reaching a final is big but without winning it's not the same, and it was a while ago that I felt I needed the full package by being in the final and winning the final so it was a very, very special moment."
