Liverpool boss Klopp has plans for Sturridge departure

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp are ready to promote from within to replace Daniel Sturridge.

Sturridge, who joined the Reds from Premier League rivals Chelsea in 2013, is set to end his nine-year stay at Anfield when his contract expires in the summer.

The Times says with Sturridge set to play his football elsewhere next season and not many big-name reinforcements expected to arrive at Anfield, the striker's departure will open the door for Rhian Brewster to start featuring regularly in Klopp's first-team.

Brewster displayed his talents as a natural finisher during the Under-17 World Cup in 2017, where he won the golden boot with eight goals as England went on to beat Spain in the final.

The teenager, who moved to Liverpool from Chelsea aged 15, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Reds after he missed most of the 2017/2018 campaign with a serious knee injury.
