Liverpool boss Klopp explains Firmino axe for Huddersfield win

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp explained withdrawing Roberto Firmino for victory at Huddersfield Town.

Klopp opted to replace him with Daniel Sturridge from the start - the first time he has done that in a Premier League game this season.

“The Brazilians came back on Thursday," he said

“Bobby (Firmino) played 90 minutes so it was clear maybe we should not do it this time.

“Daniel could start as he has not had too many starts this season."

Firmino came on for the final 13 minutes, while fellow Brazil international Fabinho - who also played against Argentina - came off the bench for his first-ever Premier League start.
