Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is delighted with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's new deal.
The midfielder penned a new long-term deal with the club on Thursday, after losing the vast majority of last season to the serious knee injury he picked up in the Champions League semi-final against Roma in April 2018.
"We have to be there for the dark moments in rehab. Me, medical staff. But I don't think Ox had too many of them," said Klopp.
"His most difficult moment was pre-season, we treated him like a normal player, not a formerly injured player, and that was really hard for him. You feel intensity.
"Ox went through that very important process. You have to stay patient and accept it won't happen overnight.
"It's not about the rehab stuff, it's about the stuff to get the best fitness level you can be. That was the hardest thing for him, I'm sure. But he has done it.
"All the steps Ox did were the right steps and now he is back on track. The good times are ahead."
