Liverpool boss Klopp concedes Leeds draw was fair result

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp did not have too many complaints about his side drawing with Leeds United in the Premier League.

The Reds missed a chance to take a step towards a top four spot in the league after a 1-1 draw on Monday night.

Liverpool opened the scoring through Sadio Mane, but Leeds secured a draw at home through a Diego Llorente equaliser.

Klopp said post-game: "Yeah, probably in the end [fair result].

"We played a really good game in the first half, a really good game. If you saw Leeds more often maybe then you know how tricky it is to play against them. We did really well.

"They make the pitch big, they want to play in different areas, are pretty direct, running in behind, all these kind of things.

"We controlled that quite well, caused them a lot of problems, scored a wonderful goal [and] could have scored others, should have scored in the second half with the counter-attacks – didn't do that and then you keep the game open.

"Then we got step by step a bit deeper, defended deeper, and that makes no sense. That doesn't help.

"But it's an intense game to play against them so we dropped deeper, it was not right but it happened, so they created, especially with set-pieces, big chances. Ali made two, at least, really good saves.

"But, with the number of set-pieces and the size we had tonight – we obviously didn't have the tallest team – we were in danger there so they scored the goal.

"Yes, when you are that long 1-0 up, it's quite frustrating when you don't get it over the line."
