Liverpool boss Klopp: Claims around Mane and Salah just a shame

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has rejected claims they struggle without AFCON absentees Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

The Reds host Brentford later today.

"Look, it is a shame that I have to remind people, but we played one of the biggest games in our history here (against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final) without Bobby (Roberto Firmino) and Mo," Klopp said.

"We won at Crystal Palace 7-0 last season and Mo didn't start the game.

"We won against Manchester United (5-0 in October) and Sadio didn't start and now both are out.

"That is not cool but it's not that I say 'you have to be like him and you have to be like him'.

"It is about finding solutions and getting through and Bobby when he has the situations, he wants to score.

"We have players who offer runs in behind and he can keep the ball and pass the ball and that makes complete sense.

"But Bobby (Firmino) is a very smart player and it is about using your team-mates in the way you can use them and it is not that you can only score goals from this situation or this situation."
