Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has allayed fears regarding the fitness of defender Alberto Moreno.

Liverpool put in a very disappointing display during their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Roma in a pre-season encounter on Monday night and apart from the poor performance, another major concern for the Reds was an injury to left-back Moreno.

Moreno limped off with a hamstring problem which led to fears that he could potentially miss the start of the Premier League season but to allay such fears, Klopp has gone on to state that the young Spaniard only suffered a dead leg.

Klopp said: "Yes, [he is OK] – dead leg in the hamstring.

"He couldn't activate the muscle so you cannot play. That's how it is."
