Liverpool boss Klopp admits Matip injury delay

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits Joel Matip is facing a month on the sidelines.

Matip was missing from Sunday's Premier League clash at Chelsea after suffering a muscle injury.

With Joe Gomez also out with a slight knock, Jurgen Klopp was forced to use Fabinho as an emergency centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk.

“Joe actually should be fine, it was not a big one, but we have to see," said the Reds boss. “He should be fine tomorrow already.

“With Joel, it could be slightly different. It's not the worst thing in the world, but a few weeks, a couple of weeks, probably after the international break he will be ready again.

“So we have to see. It's not cool, but it's crazy. One day and then bam bam.

“Luckily we have Fabinho and he played an exceptional game, so that was really, really nice."
