Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admitted mixed emotions after their Club World Cup triumph over Flamengo due to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's ankle injury.
Oxlade-Chamberlain started in midfield but was forced off 15 minutes from the end of normal time after appearing to twist his ankle when landing awkwardly after a challenge.
The England international left the Khalifa International Stadium on crutches and with his right foot in a protective boot.
He will undergo scans when Liverpool arrive back in Merseyside on Sunday.
Speaking after Bobby Firmino's extra-time winner, Klopp said: “I spoke to him. He showed me the video (of the incident). When he landed, he got a kick and rolled over on it.
“He feels okay, of course it's far from being perfect, but we have to see if it's a stretch ligament or partly ruptured or ruptured.
“It's a big shadow on tonight."
