Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez rejected a stunning salary package offered by Real Madrid in the summer, it has been revealed.

Writing on his website, guillembalague.com, Guillem Balague revealed Benitez rejected Real for the fourth time. The Madrid giants had offered a package worth €6million per year over a four-year deal and a transfer budget that a manager's dreams are made of.

But Benitez believes in what he is doing at Anfield and feels he is only midway through his rebuilding of Liverpool from top to bottom.
