Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is delighted with the progress this season of David Ngog.

Reflecting on the French youngster's performance last week against Blackburn Rovers, Benitez told liverpoolfc.tv: "I was a little bit disappointed I couldn't use Ngog before because he played really well for France Under-21s against England.

"I wanted to give him an opportunity and it was fantastic for him to score."
