Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah will be omitted from Egypt's squad for their upcoming fixtures.

The Reds have endured a mini-slump in recent weeks, with two draws seeing them drop into second place on the Premier League table, albeit with a game in hand on leaders Manchester City.

But they will be happy to know that Salah will not have to play for Egypt when they take on Niger Republic and Nigeria in next month's international break.

Speaking to KingFut, the EFA vice-president said: "Mohamed Salah will not play the Niger game in the AFCON qualifiers or the Nigeria friendly.

"Ahmed Hegazi will probably also be left out of the squad."
