Damir Skomina has been named referee for the Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool.
The Slovenian has taken charge of five Reds games in the past in which they have lost four and won just one.
Liverpool did manage to end their losing streak under Skomina when they crucially beat Napoli 1-0 earlier in the season. The last time Skomina officiated an English side came in Manchester United's remarkable comeback against Paris Saint-Germain.
Skomina first took charge of a Liverpool match in 2009 when the home side crashed to defeat against Fiorentina at Anfield.
Six years later the Reds would then lose against Besiktas before he oversaw yet another defeat against Villarreal.
And he also took charge of Liverpool's 4-2 defeat against Roma last season although the Premier League side did progress on aggregate.
