Liverpool are set to beat other Premier League clubs to the signing of Derby County's exciting forward Kaide Gordon.

The 16-year-old is already a first teamer with Derby, but is leaving the club as he has not yet signed professional terms.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are set to wrap up a compensation package with Derby worth up to £3 million for the winger.

The Championship club is cash strapped and will welcome any injection of funds.

The source claims talks will continue in the next 48 hours and an agreement is close.
