Liverpool attacker Salah: I've supported this club since I was a boy

Mohamed Salah insists he has been a supporter of Liverpool since he was a boy.

The Egyptian, who joined from Roma in the summer, became the fastest player to 20 Premier League goals on Sunday during the 2-2 draw with Tottenham. His brace took his overall season tally to 28 goals.

He told FourFourTwo: "I have loved the club since I was young and knew this was a team I wanted to play for.

"I knew the history this club has and, as soon as I got the chance, I had to make it happen."

It has been Salah's second stint in the Premier League having spent two unsuccessful seasons at Chelsea.

There were doubts he could make an impact at Anfield following his spell with the Blues, but Salah hasn't been surprised at all by his exploits.

He said: "Come on, I know I'm good!

"I was comfortable at Roma, I had two great seasons there and I was very happy, but I've always been the sort of guy who takes a chance, to put myself under pressure."

Salah added that he would just try to continue scoring goals for the club.

He said: "I don't know if it's up to me say that, so maybe I'll just let the fans say that. I'm happy scoring goals for the club I supported as a kid - that's all that matters."
