Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota: I never thought about replacing Salah, Firmino or Mane

Diogo Jota insists he never thought about replacing any of Liverpool's established attacking trio.

The Portuguese forward was signed from Wolves for £43m in 2020 and has since scored 16 goals in 37 matches for the club.

And Jota is pleased to be part of an attacking rotation with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

"Obviously I knew they were one of the best attacking trios in the world but I never thought about coming and taking anyone's place," Jota said ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash against Porto.

"I thought about coming and to give my best in training and in games, and then it is up to the manager to decide.

"I think it's always useful when you have those kind of players to help you, because in the end what we want is to win and only if you have good players you are able to do that."
