Liverpool are distancing themselves from speculation they could sign Porto winger Otavio this summer.

Reports over the weekend suggested the Reds had reignited their interest in the 27-year-old, who can also play in midfield.

However, the Liverpool Echo says the rumours are 'entirely fabricated'.

Club insiders have claimed that Otavio not a target and never has been.

Those sources believe that reports have been intentionally created in order to drum up interest in the Portuguese star.
