Liverpool and MG Motor go worldwide

Liverpool and MG Motor have expanded their partnership into the global tier, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

Having first struck a regional deal back in 2016 to become the Premier League club's official automotive partner in China, the renewed deal sees MG Motor step up that relationship in a bid grow its presence by targeting key overseas markets .

The car maker will also continue to have LED branding present at Liverpool's Anfield stadium, first team player access, signed merchandise and exposure on the club's digital platforms.

Since the two first partnered, MG has created limited-edition Liverpool-branded cars, launched a TV commercial and seen club legends attend the International Motor Show in China.

Financial terms and the length of the deal have not been disclosed, but this latest agreement sees the Premier League runners-up add another corporate partner to their ranks. It comes less than week after signing a multi-year global betting deal with 1xBet, helping to take the club's value to more than UK£1 billion (US$1.25 billion).

Billy Hogan, Liverpool's managing director and chief commercial officer, said: "As partners, we have brought some incredible opportunities to our fans and chances for them to get closer to the action. I'm looking forward to seeing what else we can achieve now that our focus becomes global."

Michael Yang, managing director of SAIC Motor International Business [owner of MG], said: "Just like the well-known saying, 'one tree does not make a forest', we're always looking for more people and partners to come together to create great things.

"The joint cooperation between MG and Liverpool FC will surely do this as we create more great moments together and bring more special experiences to fans around the world."
