Liverpool and Manchester City could face a playoff for the final Champions League qualifying place.
The Mirror says the sides are currently placed fourth and third respectively in the Premier league table, level on points and goal difference.
The Reds currently have five more goals which would see them finish about Pep Guardiola's side, but City have the easier run-in in the final few weeks and will fancy themselves to make up that deficit.
And if they end up in a similar situation at the end of the season but in fourth and fifth they will face each other in a golf-style one-off playoff game.
