Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is well aware he will not be starting every game for England at Euro2016.
The 26-year-old must be monitored closely due to the fact that he has been riddled with soft tissue injuries over the past few years but he has faith in his fitness, that if played in the big games, he can do a job for his country as he did at club level for the Reds last season.
"I have total belief in myself and when you go into a tournament like this, nobody wants to sit on the bench," said Sturridge to reporters at team training in Chantilly on Tuesday.
"I want to play, of course, but it's down to the manager to choose his team and I have to understand that. If he chooses somebody else, that's his decision.
"I'm working tirelessly on the training pitch to ensure I'm in the team. If he doesn't select me, the next day I will be on the training field to ensure I am for the next game.
"I do offer something different but that is why the gaffer has selected all of us, because he believes we all offer something different. I know what I bring to the table and you guys know I'm confident about my own abilities.
"There were times at Liverpool when I didn't start and then I started in the Europa final. I was starting in the big games."
