Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah insists they DESERVE to win the Premier League title this season.

The Reds go to Manchester City on Sunday.

When questioned whether Liverpool are worthy contenders to win the title for the second consecutive season, he told beIN Sports: "In my opinion, yes; we are the club that deserves the title."

The Anfield giants currently sit in second spot, behind surprise package Southampton, after their first seven games, and are expected to mount a strong defence of their crown.

On the thrashing by Aston Villa, Salah added: "A loss is a loss, regardless of the number of goals you concede, but it was difficult for us to lose when we are champions of England and the holders of the UEFA Champions League title two years ago.

"When you face such a situation, you have two options: to sit down and lament what happened or to move forward and create a positive reaction. We took the second option."
