Liverpool ace Salah clarifies comments slighting Man Utd after Anfield thrashing

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has clarified post-game comments he made about his side's win over Manchester United.

Salah was interviewed on television after the contest, where he spoke about his team's midfielders and defenders making it easy for the forwards to create a lot of chances.

However, the Egpytian has said his comments were misconstrued by the media, who had suggested he was talking about United's defenders and midfielders making it easy for the Liverpool attackers.

He had stated: "They make our lives easier in the midfield and in the back.

"They always try to give us the ball in a one-against one-situation. So they make our lives much easier so I think when we defend well, we had a clean sheet here (at Anfield) and a clean sheet there (in October's 5-0 win at Old Trafford), they make our lives easier to score."

He clarified the comments on Twitter, stating: "I meant our midfield, and our defence, make it easy for us. I was not talking about the Manchester United players whom I respect."
