Fabinho has revealed he made a bet with Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz about scoring a Panenka penalty in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
The Brazilian midfielder was one of 11 successful penalty takers for the Reds, who won the trophy after Kepa Arrizabalaga blazed his spot-kick over the bar.
And Fabinho says his cheeky Panenka penalty was planned after a training session with Diaz.
"The day before I tried to do a Panenka. It was just me and Luis Diaz with no goalkeeper in the goal," the 28-year-old revealed.
"I tried to shoot like this and I told him, 'Tomorrow if it goes to pens, I will shoot like this.'
"He didn't believe me! But when I was walking to the ball to take that penalty, I was in my mind that I will shoot a Panenka. Yes, it worked.
"When you shoot a penalty like this, you have to know if you miss, maybe you can't go into the dressing room because everyone will kill you!
"In my mind I was like, 'I will take like this. Let's do this!' That's it."
