Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho has rejected an enquiry from Real Madrid, it has been revealed.

Don Balon says Coutinho is regarded highly inside Real and an approach has been made.

Real chiefs see the Brazilian as a potential replacement for wantaway pair Isco and James Rodriguez - and also liked the idea of trumping Barcelona to the former Espanyol midfielder.

However, Coutinho turned down the approach.

The midfielder, if he is to leave Anfield, only wants to move to Barca, where he would welcome the chance to play alongside good friend, Neymar.

But for the moment, Coutinho has made it clear he's happy in England.
